We consider sanitation to be of prior importance for the public health and the board of Sanitary inspector is appointed to scrutinize the sanitation in all the places by conducting surveillance programs at regular intervals. Water treatments are carried out before they are distributed to the household and the wells in the respective jurisdiction of every Sanitary Inspector are disinfected regularly with bleaching powder to ensure sanitation is maintained at the utmost level.

Our services consist of laboratory testing as the board has its own laboratory. The two sections of the laboratory are the bacteria eligible section and the chemical section.

Our services in the bacteriological section is mainly concerned with the blood urine and bacteriological examinations of water effluents etc. which is carried out under the supervision of a bacteriologist.

The chemical section is mainly supervised by a public analyst. The in charge of the chemical section is a staff of the board who is appointed as the public analyst by the government and his reports are acceptable in the court of law to verify any sort of violation of the Food Adulteration Act in the prosecution cases.

The Board monitors the conditions that are prevailing in the form of collecting samples from the factory discharges like the Indian iron and steel Col Reckit Colman, Hindustan cables and others. Drinking water samples also collected from the collieries inclusive of the wells, tap water and from other sources.

All the samples are examined by the laboratory services of the boards. The authorities are reported with the test results and informed regarding any cases of unsatisfactory reports.
Inclusive of the services we also provide similar services to the industrial units where the influence and the drinking water are examined in the laboratory of the board which are under the paid services that are provided by us. The payment is exclusively charged for the purpose of submission of the report to the pollution control board.

The laboratory service is the only unit that is present beyond Kolkata which is absolutely inevitable for the examination of drinking water effluents food sample and the Damodar River water.

We provide services in terms of proper treatment of the sick by maintenance and establishment of the dispensary’s hospitals and the medical staff. We have provision for vaccination as per the requirement of the residents so that they are able to avail the medical facilities in their close proximity.

We have services of providing distribution to the various segments apart from the medical facilities that are provided by us. The medicine distribution is mainly focused on epidemic control and we undertake initiatives of disinfection of Wells by using bleaching powder. If any cases of outbreak of the gastroenteritis are reported, immediate visit by the Sanitary Inspector and the medical officers are conducted and the affected people are provided with necessary medications bleaching powder, O.R.S., etc.

Needless to mention the Asansol mines Board of health is an independent body that serves to meet the requirement as per the demand of the situation bye deputing more number of medical officers, sanitary staff providing the affected with bleaching powder halozen tablets, ORS, saline, Dextrose Bottles and medicines whenever the state government units have constraints.
